His Eminence, Archbishop Benjamin, celebrated the hierarchical Divine Liturgy at his own Holy Trinity Cathedral on Sunday, October 19, when the parishioners here honored the tenth anniversary of His Eminence’s consecration to the episcopate, as well as his sixtieth birthday.

Vladyka travels so much caring for all his sheep in our very large diocese that even though these anniversaries occurred in May and June respectively, this was the first opportunity the cathedral had to honor its rector and archpastor!

After the liturgy, the parishioners put on a lovely banquet served by the church school children. Fr John Takahashi, Archdeacon Kirill Sokolov, long-time leader Johann Morse, and new parish council lay vice-president Huw Raphael Richardson gave congratulatory speeches to His Eminence, noting the love he shows for his flock, which in turn bears fruit in the flock’s love for its shepherd here on earth. It was truly very easy to join Fr John in saying once again, “Axios!” to Archbishop Benjamin and to pray for many more years of his service in Christ’s Church.
